Notes:
1. In a CPE where AC power is not available, the designer may choose to switch over to line power when the CPE goes
off-hook and use battery power while on-hook.
2. The FSKE pin should be set low to enable the alert tone detector when the dual tone alert signal is expected. The CPE
has the capability to disable the CAS detection by setting FSKE always high during the on-hook state.
3. In M-mode, FSKE may be set high as soon as the CPE has finished sending the acknowledge signal ACK.
4. FSKE should be set low when FCDN has become inactive.
5. For unsuccessful attempts where the end office does not send the FSK signal, the CPE should disable FSKE,
unmute the handset and enable the keypad after this interval has elapsed.
6. In C-mode the FSKE high is used to clear the INTN signal.
7. The DTMF ACK signal (941 Hz and 1633 Hz) will be detected by the FSK detector, FCDN will be low and the DET
signal will be high if the FSKE has been set high in C-mode.
